Programme for the Exhibition of the Ie Samoa, tapa cloths and handicrafts
Cabinet has approved the programme for the 2017 Exhibition of the Ie Samoa (finemats), siapo (tapa cloths) and handicrafts for women’s committees in both Upolu and Savaii.
The ceremony will take place in front of the Fiame Mata’afa Faumuina Mulinu’u II building at Matagialalua on Thursday 11th May 2017, at 6.00am.
Now in it’s 13th year, the exhibition marks the celebration of Mother’s Day for this year.
Over 3,000 women from villages all over the country will be taking part in this year’s annual event which will include a three day exhibition in front of the Government building to display finemats, tapa cloths and handicrafts.

Policy for Pre Schools in Samoa 2017 – 2022
Cabinet has approved the Policy for Early Childhood Education in Samoa 2017 – 2022.
The document sets the guidelines and reforms to better prepare young children’s learning abilities before entering Primary Schools.
The Policy is designed to guide the work of the Ministry of Education and that of the National Council of Early Childhood Education in Samoa.

Management and maintenance of litter in the town area
Cabinet has awarded contracts for the management and maintenance of litter in the Apia town area to the following companies.

The tender for the contract was advertised for public interest and six companies submitted applications of bids.
An assessment was conducted by the Sub Committee according to the tender requirements before a recommendation was tabled before Cabinet for the final decision.

Variation works for Samoa’s Parliament Complex at Mulinuu
Cabinet has approved the awarding of contract to Craig Construction Ltd. for the constructing of variation works for Samoa’s New Parliamentary Complex at Tiafau, Mulinu’u.
Construction is underway and is expected to be completed in May 2018.
Parliamentary sessions are currently being held at Gym Two, Tuanaimato.

Installation and supply of new air conditions for TATTE
Cabinet has approved the installation and supply of new air conditioner units for the Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi building at Sogi. The contract has been awarded to Kooline Refrigeration Samoa Ltd.
New air conditioners will be installed in Levels 4 and 5 of the building that houses offices for the Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure and also the Electric Power Corporation.
